“Can’t Shake It” (At Times, Man Ending)
Upon the world,
I stand apart
From Satan’s darkened heart.
And tears, they fall
Onto the ground—
Emotions start to pound.
And as tears fall,
They start to drown
The evilness in me.
I change my frown
To smiling face
And set my true self free.
I see, I see
Why this must be—
These problems in my life.
Upon the world,
I see myself,
And deal with all my strife.
Upon the world,
And off the lam,
I see just who I am,
But still don’t see
Why I’m still here.
Is my end far or near?
I rid my pain,
And do feel free,
But still, I don’t know why
I’m standing here
On this new day
And I may choose to die.
I know, I know
I should let go,
And let life take its time.
Upon the world,
Upon this cliff…
No, I won’t jump this time.
