“Moral and Immoral Salesmen”

A long time ago,
I sat down with the devil,
And with god there, too.
Both were trying to sell me—
Both telling me what to do.

The devil said this,
And god said that—
No option was simple,
For this was no normal chat.
There was eternal life here,
And there were heaven's wings there.

Waiting for my answer,
Both salesmen stare.

Now, which of who should I choose?
I don’t want to pick the wrong destiny.
I don’t want to lose my soul!
I mean, this isn’t an easy choice.
This is big!
This is everything!

“You must choose now,” they both demanded,
“For your time has come…
Do you choose heaven?
Or do you choose hell?
Which path will you choose to follow?

“Ah, run them by me again.”

“Sure, my friend.
With me, there’s an everlasting life on earth—
An everlasting life with no strife of any kind.
You’ll no longer have conscience of the mind,
And nothing will bother you.
No pain, no stress, no suffering.
You don’t burn in a firey pit, like some say.
You just have fun every day.
And you’ll receive whatever it is that you wish.
So, hearing that…what do you say?”

“Ah, let me hear him again.”

“Cool.”

“Well, with me, your sins will be set free.
Angles you’ll see,
Surrounded by blue sky,
Golden gates, high above the clouds.
Crowds and crowds of family you have never seen.
No acts of anger.
No one’s mean.
No one’s a stranger.
A perfect scene.
Forever, I might also like to add.
So, where to when you die?”
